I have a good excuse for not coming up with any amusing blog posts for the past month-I’ve been puking. I spend most of my waking hours worrying about when I'm going to vomit, dry heaving, or being thankful that I am not vomiting. It leaves little time for me to come up with something “cute” about chickens or snakes.
This morning I had a breakthrough. I ate a banana before my morning shower (knowing in advance I would be spewing shortly after getting out of the shower). This was my first banana morning. I had tried nuts, fruit bars, cereal and bread. Well, the banana came up like a dream-smooth and somewhat delicious. I actually smiled and said, "Not bad!" when it was over. Who knew that puking up a banana would be the highlight of my day?
I should start feeling better in three short weeks. Until then, please excuse my absence (or presence with a lack of creativity).
Sincerely, Jessica
PS-This is just my weird way of saying I'm pregnant.
Hello Jessica. I just stopped by to see what was going on in your area of the world and was dismayed to read about this. I hope you get over whatever it is soon.
ReplyDeleteSending good vibes from Brisbane, Australia.

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I shouldn't have been so vague. I'm really just pregnant. It's not so bad being sick when you have something good like a baby coming! Thanks for the good vibes. :) Jess
Wow, you made it sound like you had 3 weeks of chemo left or something. Way to be cryptic, Jess!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I really thought it screamed pregnancy. I will have to edit it.
ReplyDeleteJessica: Congrats to you and Glenn! And I know Oli will be excited to have a new sibling to share adventures.
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh though. I knew exactly what this post was about just as soon as I got a few sentences in. I said to myself, uh-oh, Jess is preggers. Others just didn't pick up on it.
Case in point: I laughed out loud at the very post by AUSurfer when he said "I hope you get over whetever it is soon" -- haha! I said to myself...uh...I don't quite think that's going to happen! :)
By the way, my cousin never got sick with any of her children. He husband woke up like clockwork every morning and yakked his head off. Maybe you need to talk to Glenn....
That's great news... I mean the pregnancy, not the puking :) Oliver will enjoy a playmate I'm sure and helping Mom. Congratulations :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations Jess!! The puking will be over before you know it...hang in there!
ReplyDeleteMark, Stacia, Barbara, and Rebecca- Thanks! We are very excited to be doing the baby thing all over again.
ReplyDeleteWell, what a nice surprise - Jess is pregnant :-) I'm so happy for you (sorry for the morning sickness) Did you have all that with Oliver too? What does he think about getting a new baby brother or sister? Is he excited? I puked for 4 months too - try not to take any pharmaceuticals, if you can at all help it, Jess, but rather stay with natural things... I'm so happy - do you want to know what sex the baby is or do you want to be surprised? I wanted to be surprised. This is wonderful. This gives me time to crochet something for the new arrival - oh, how I love making stuff for people I know (sort of) and like very much :-) God bless you all. Congratulations to your whole family!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Doris (and the critters)
